

RISE - Roma Inclusive School Experiences is a project funded by the REC (Rights, Equality and Citizenship) programme of the European Union. The objectives of the project are the following: to promote a more welcoming and inclusive school for Roma children 6 to 14 years old; to fight the discrimination in education and to prevent and reducing absenteeism and educational disengagement of Roma children. At the same time, it is very important to build a more inclusive school for all the students: a better school for all is our slogan.
The RISE project book "School Education, Minorities and Life: Roma Inclusive School Experiences" is out! The book contains the final reflections and documentation of the RISE project, starting from the presentation of the actions implemented in the local contexts where the project has been developed (Bologna and Bari in Italy, Braga District in Portugal and Novo-Mesto in Slovenia).
The RISE project video "A message to Europe" has been uploaded on the YouTube channel of the Department of Education Sciences of the University of Bologna.
The Council of Europe, international organization whose aim is to sustain democracy, human rights, European cultural identity and the searching for solutions to social problems, emanated a new recommendation to on the necessity to analyze and revise current school curricula, textbooks and other teaching or learning materials with a view to eliminating stereotyping related to Roma and/or Travellers and to promoting issues
The Final International Conference of the RISE project took place on Friday the 14th of February 2020 at the Institute of the Innocents in Florence. The title of the Conference is "Building a School Together: Inclusive Experiences from Roma Children".

The RISE project Italian National Conference took place in Italy on the 9th and 10th of September 2019 in Bologna. You can consult the program, presentations, pictures and video of the event in the documentation section of this website.
The Portuguese team is developing two workshops to build animated stories with children from each primary school that participate in the RISE project. These workshops aim to discuss with the students themes related to cultural diversity, prejudice, discrimination, racism, respect and human rights.
On the 6th of June 2019 the students of the classes involved in the RISE project workshop activities visited the didactic farm of the Arvaia cooperative in Bologna, Italy. This activity has been organized according to the RISE project aim of creating a more inclusive and welcoming school for all the students through education paths focused on inclusion and interculture.
The 3rd Gipsy Day will take place in Bologna on Saturday the 8th of June 2019 in Bologna (zona ortiva via Erbosa, 17). The title of the event is "Libertè. Roma and Sinti in the resistance and ribellion of Auschwiz on the 16th of May 1944". This event will represent the opportunity to share traditional music, food, poetry and tales of the Roma and Sinti culture.

A first set of stopmotion video realized by the children in the frame of the RISE digital storytelling workshops are online.
A professional event and focus group will take place in Slovenia on the 15th of May 2009 at RIC Novo Mesto. The main objective of this meeting is to collectively reflect on the results of the RISE project activities realized in Slovenia. Here below you can consult the program of the event.
